Jozef Lettrich bol v prelomových rokoch 1945-1948 najvýznamnejšou politickou osobnosťou Slovenska, bol nielen predesedom Demokratickej strany v tomto časovom období, ale aj predsedom Slovenskej národnej rady. Patril medzi popredných predstaviteľov odboja a po viac ako dve desaťročia stál na čele demokratického exilu. Kolektívna monografia 13 slovenských a českých autorov zostavila monografiu mapujúcu jeho životné osudy.
