Tomas Rajlich is internationally recognized as a major figure in European painting. His monochromatic canvases based on the Minimalist grid are the result of meticulous research on the fundamental elements of painting. Emerging in the early 1970s, he is often associated with Minimalism and Fundamental Painting a term coined by the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 1975.
